President Ilham Aliyev receives credentials of incoming ambassadors of several countries 

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand Apirat Sugondhabhirom, AzVision.az reports citing the Azerbaijani president's press service. 

Ambassador Apirat Sugondhabhirom presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

The head of state had a conversation with the ambassador.

Hailing the level of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Thailand, President Ilham Aliyev stressed the necessity of revitalizing cooperation in various areas, particularly in tourism sector which is well-developed in Thailand, and underlined the possibility of establishing ties in the field of technology. Noting that there are a few companies from Thailand operating in Azerbaijan, the head of state expressed his hope that taking into account the existing potential of both countries the trade relations between the two countries will expand.

Saying that he is happy to be in Azerbaijan, Apirat Sugondhabhirom noted that he is deeply impressed by the beauty of Baku. The ambassador pointed out the existing potential of Azerbaijan and Thailand, adding that he would spare no effort in expanding the cooperation in various spheres, including in the field of tourism and establishing people-to-people contacts.

During the conversation, the sides also touched upon the issues of cooperation in the field of food processing.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bosnia and Herzegovina Adis Alagic.

Ambassador Adis Alagic presented his credentials to the head of state.

President Ilham Aliyev had a conversation with the ambassador.

Touching upon the bilateral relations, the head of state recalled his meetings with heads of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović, and asked Adis Alagic to extend his greetings to Šefik Džaferović. President Ilham Aliyev said that very sincere and fruitful discussions were held in these meetings.

The head of state hailed the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina stands by Azerbaijan during the occupation of the country`s lands by Armenia and after the liberation of Karabakh, and described it as a sign of the high level of the bilateral relations. President Ilham Aliyev also stressed the importance of mutual support within international organizations, including the UN and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The ambassador conveyed the greetings of the leadership of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the head of state.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked for the greetings, and asked Adis Alagic to extend his greetings to the leadership of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Noting that he is proud to be appointed ambassador to Azerbaijan, Adis Alagic said that he will spare no effort in expanding the bilateral ties even further during his tenure.

The ambassador emphasized that his country supports Azerbaijan`s defending its territorial integrity in accordance with international law, and the successful restoration of Karabakh. He expressed satisfaction with his visit to Aghdam last year, and his planned visit to Shusha in the coming days. Adis Alagic pointed out that the very strong political relations between the two countries have a very positive effect on the bilateral ties in general. The diplomat said that his country is interested in further strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations with Azerbaijan.

Touching upon the bilateral relations, the head of state hailed the support provided by the Dominican Republic for Azerbaijan as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council amid political attacks against Azerbaijan in the UN Security Council during the second Karabakh war. President Ilham Aliyev mentioned that the attempt to violate the right of Azerbaijan to restore its territorial integrity by some member states of the UN Security Council was prevented thanks to the firm position of the Dominican Republic and a number of member states of the UN Security Council. The head of state hailed the fact that the Dominican Republic is a country that supported Azerbaijan’s just position on Karabakh issue in the Non-Aligned Movement. President Ilham Aliyev lauded the support of the Dominican Republic for the extension of Azerbaijan's chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement, the initiatives put forward by Azerbaijan regarding COVID-19, as well as the establishment of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network and the Non-Aligned Movement Youth Organization.

The head of state praised the very good level of bilateral relations between the two countries, and at the same time, stressed the necessity of defining ways of expanding cooperation in the trade and economic spheres.

Elvis Antonio Alam Lora conveyed the greetings of President of the Dominican Republic Luis Abinader to the head of state.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings, and asked Elvis Antoni Alam Lora to convey his greetings to the President of the Dominican Republic.

The diplomat noted that he is glad to visit a beautiful country of Azerbaijan and to be appointed as the first ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Azerbaijan. Elvis Antoni Alam Lora expressed his hope that the dynamic relations in trade, tourism and other areas will be established between the two countries.
